Last Days in Adelaide

This is just a quick one.
Due to the flu I got from Cough-Girl and my “camping“-adventure on Kangaroo Island, I spent most of Sunday inside. My voice was gone and I was not able to motivate myself for more physical activity than a short grocery run.
On Monday, the weather was good and I spent most of the day outdoors. First, I went back to Rundle Mall and bought a 24-pack of batteries to prevent running out of them again at an inconvenient time. Afterwards, I took the tram to South Terrace and went for a walk in the Veale Gardens. It was lovely there, it smelled like spring with all the flowers fresh in bloom, and there were dozens of ducklings playing in the creek with their moms.
I knew the Japanese Himeji Gardens were somewhere in the area as well, so I started in the general direction of where they are pointed out on the map and after a fifteen minute march, I finally found them. The Himeji Gardens are not very big, but they are as beautiful and as peaceful as they are described in the brochures. They have a lot of little water plays and ponds, as well as a stone garden.
Around noon, I went to the other end of town (North Terrace) to walk along the river Torrens and take photos of the Adelaide Oval and Adelaide Bridge. It was wonderful there, and every single rowing club was getting their boats ready to make the most of the beautiful day. I went back to the hostel early that afternoon, to eat and rest before my overnight trip to Melbourne. Of course I got to the bus terminal way too early, but that’s just how I prefer it. I read a bit and tried to map out a rough plan of what to do when I get to Melbourne. The bus wasn’t very full and I got a couple of hours of pseudo-sleep, which means I’m not going to be completely useless on my first day in Melbourne.
